COORS BREWING CO. ANNOUNCES THIRD NEW EXPORT MARKET IN 1991
 WITH EXPANSION TO CAYMAN ISLANDS
GOLDEN, Colo., Dec. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Coors Brewing Co. announced today that it will launch sales of two of its flagship brands, Original Coors and Coors Light, in the Cayman Islands by mid-December.
Coors' import representative in the Cayman Islands, Jacques Scott Group Ltd., will handle all sales, marketing and distribution activities for Coors' products in the Cayman Islands.
"We are very pleased to make our products available in the Cayman Islands," said Mark Stankovic, director of International Marketing. "Markets in the Caribbean are very important to Coors because of the number of tourists visiting the islands. And having our products in the Cayman Islands fulfills an important step in our expansion plans for the region."
Charles Adams J.P., chairman, Jacques Scott Group, said "My company is particularly pleased to be appointed as distributor of Coors' fine products in the Cayman Islands and to be associated with such a prestigious company as Coors Brewing Co."
To kick off Coors' arrival in the Cayman Islands, Coors and the Jacques Scott Group are donating a portion of Coors' sales to benefit a project of The National Trust. Funds will help protect an endangered Parrot Reserve on Cayman Brac, one of the three islands that comprise the Cayman Islands.
In keeping with Coors' heritage and tradition of carefully brewing the highest quality beers, the beer sold in the Cayman Islands will contain the same all-natural ingredients found in Coors' domestic beers. The products will be packaged in 12-ounce aluminum cans and 12-ounce bottles.
Earlier this year, Coors added Guam and Puerto Rico as export markets. The company recently announced a joint venture agreement with Jinro Ltd. of Seoul, Korea, to build a brewery in the Republic of Korea. In addition, Coors has announced a joint venture and licensing agreement with Scottish & Newcastle Breweries of Scotland to brew and market Coors Extra Gold in the United Kingdom.
Coors continues to explore other export opportunities throughout the world as part of its plan to become a major international brewer.
