COOPERS & LYBRAND APPOINTS CHARLES F. JACEY, JR., CLIENT SERVICE VICE CHAIRMAN FOR NEW YORK CLUSTER

 NEW YORK, Nov. 30 ~PRNewswire~ -- As part of the firm's new strategic direction, Coopers & Lybrand Chairman Eugene M. Freedman today announced the appointment of Charles F. Jacey, Jr., as client service vice chairman for the New York cluster.
 As vice chairman, Jacey has overall management responsibility for the New York area, which includes offices in New York City; Melville, Long Island; Parsippany and Princeton, N.J.; and Stamford, Conn.
 "Charlie is one of our most outstanding client service partners, with a wealth of international experience that is crucial to serving clients in today's increasingly international marketplace. He exemplifies the type of leadership that will propel our firm into the 21st century," said Freedman. "As vice chairman for one of the largest and most important client service markets in the firm, he will provide the leadership required to ensure the high quality and efficient delivery of services that are essential to our new strategic direction."
 Jacey has been with the firm for 34 years and has held various client-service and management positions. He has been responsible for service to some of Coopers & Lybrand's largest international clients, including leading pharmaceutical and consumer product companies. He developed the firm's initial services to foreign investors and is co- editor of Business Opportunities in the Far East -- The Complete Reference Guide to Practices and Procedures.
 In addition to his professional accomplishments, Jacey is active in the New York City community. He serves on the board of directors and is vice president and treasurer of the Police Athletic League, an organization which assists underprivileged youth of New York.
 Jacey received a bachelor of business administration degree from Pace University and is a member of the university's board of trustees, serving as chairman of its finance committee. Recently, he has become involved with the New York City Partnership, an organization that seeks to attract international business to the city.
 Coopers & Lybrand's strategy for the future differentiates the firm from its competitors.
