ST. PAUL, Minn., Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Cenex will report its fifth consecutive year of strong financial results at its 63rd annual meeting to be held Dec. 8-9, 1993, in Minneapolis.
The regional agricultural supply cooperative expects to report record 1993 earnings, exceeding the previous figure of $63.9 million in net income set in 1992. The projected financial report tops off the strongest five-year period in Cenex's 63-year history. Cenex also is expected to report net sales of more than $2 billion for the first time in its history. Sales for 1992 were $1.8 billion.
The meeting, with the theme "Team Together," will spotlight the contributions farmers, ranchers and local cooperatives have made to Cenex's continued success and on the regional cooperative's ongoing focus on customer service. An estimated 2,000 delegates and guests from the 15-state Cenex trade area are expected to attend the sessions at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
During the business portion of the meeting, delegates will elect five members of the Cenex board of directors. They also will consider a number of policy issues.
Among the meeting's speakers is Al Walker, a professional trainer who will offer a motivational start to Thursday's program when he discusses building "A World Fit to Live In."
Annual meeting early arrivals can choose from three Wednesday morning workshops of interest to cooperative leaders, agricultural producers and rural residents. Alan Kluis, president and owner of Northstar Commodity Investment Co., will review the 1993 year in agriculture and offer tips for "Positioning for Profit in '94." Cooperative managers and directors can learn more about "Communicating in a Crisis" during a session with experienced journalist and business communicator Bob Aronson. Improving community safety is the topic of "Crime Wise," a presentation by crime prevention lecturer Ann Walsh.
Cenex, based in St. Paul, supplies more than 1,600 local cooperatives and their farmer/rancher owners with gasoline and diesel fuels, propane, lubricants, tires and other vehicle accessories, plant food, crop protection products and a wide range of agricultural information and management services.
