 COOPER INDUSTRIES TO ACQUIRE MOOG AUTOMOTIVE GROUP FROM IFINT
 NEW YORK, Sept. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Cooper Industries, Inc. (NYSE: CBE) and IFINT S.A. of Luxembourg (IFIK.LU) announced today that they have reached an agreement for Cooper to acquire Moog Automotive Group, Inc. from IFINT. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
 Consummation of the sale is subject to certain conditions, including receipt of the necessary government clearances.
 Moog Automotive Group is a leading manufacturer of automotive replacement parts for domestic and foreign automobiles and light trucks. It manufactures and markets a broad line of steering, suspension and temperature control products and also distributes a line of foreign replacement parts. Revenues in 1991 were approximately $475 million. Headquartered in St. Louis, Mo., Moog operates 25 manufacturing facilities and has just over 3,000 employees.
 Moog will become part of Cooper's Automotive Products business segment. Cooper recently announced the formation of Cooper Automotive, which will be headquartered in St. Louis. It includes the Anco, Belden Automotive Wire and Cable, Champion Spark Plug, Champion Aviation and Wagner operations of Cooper, along with a consolidated North American aftermarket sales and distribution operation.
 Houston-based Cooper Industries, with 1991 revenues of $6.2 billion, is a diversified, worldwide manufacturer of electrical products, electrical power equipment, tools and hardware, automotive products, and petroleum and industrial equipment.
 IFINT is an international investment holding company affiliated with the Agnelli group. IFINT, operating from New York, Paris and Zurich, actively manages a diversified portfolio of established, well-managed companies with above-average growth potential. IFINT has been advised in this transaction by Morgan Stanley and by Lazard Freres.
