COOPER INDUSTRIES ACQUIRES BRAZILIAN TOOL COMPANY HOUSTON, July 2, 1992 /PRNewswire/ -- Cooper Industries, Inc.
(NYSE: CBE) announced that it has acquired Ferramentas Belzer do Brasil LTDA, a subsidiary of Saarbergwerke Aktiengesellschaft of Germany. The terms of the purchase were not disclosed.
Ferramentas Belzer do Brasil, founded in 1971, is a leading manufacturer of premium-quality open-end wrenches, sockets, pliers, screwdrivers and other forged tools, and is also a major producer of milling cutters. It operates a manufacturing facility in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and has about 420 employees. It will become part of the Cooper Hand Tools Division and will add significantly to Cooper's product offering for the Brazilian market. Cooper Industries, with 1991 revenues of $6.2 billion, is a diversified, worldwide manufacturer of electrical products, electrical power equipment, tools and hardware, automotive products, and petroleum and industrial equipment. -0- 7/2/92 /CONTACT: Ellen H.
