COOK COUNTY COURT SANCTIONS IMPOSED AGAINST SOROS ENTITY IN KEY BISCAYNE SUIT FILED BY BANYAN FUND

 CHICAGO, Dec. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Banyan Strategic Land Fund II (Nasdaq-NNM: VSLF) announced today that a favorable ruling was obtained in its motion for sanctions brought against certain individuals, their attorneys and two limited partnerships with whom the individuals were associated.
 In a dispute involving proceeds to be realized from a 55-acre development in Key Biscayne, Florida, the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois, on December 12, 1994, imposed sanctions on the defendants VMLP III Key Biscayne Villas Limited Partnership, an Illinois limited partnership, THSP Associates Limited Partnership II, formerly known as Banyan Mortgage Investors, L.P. III, a Delaware limited partnership, Philip H. Brady, Jr., David G. Blalock, Sr., E. James Wisner, and counsel representing the defendants, as a result of false pleadings and false discovery responses filed by the defendants and their counsel. Pursuant to a mid-1994 tender offer, the defendant partnerships are now controlled by entities affiliated with The Soros Realty Group and its chief executive, Evan Marks.
 Banyan Strategic Land Fund II is a Delaware corporation listed for quotation on the Nasdaq National Market System under the symbol "VSLF."
