CONVEX COMPUTER CORP. NAMES TERRY ROCK PRESIDENT

 RICHARDSON, Texas, June 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Convex Computer Corporation (NYSE: CNX) today announced that Terrence L. Rock has been named president of the company, effective immediately. He reports to Robert J. Paluck, Convex chairman and chief executive officer.
 "Terry has served as chief operating officer for the past year and in that time has clearly demonstrated the leadership to be president," said Paluck. "His innovative approaches to teamwork have increased productivity throughout Convex. Terry's proven expertise in all facets of management will continue to be a tremendous asset to Convex's daily business operations. As he continues to manage the day-to-day business activities, I am looking forward to expanding my role on the external issues surrounding our business, such as international government relations and other strategic developments for the company."
 Rock, 46, joined Convex in 1983, and held the position of senior vice president of operations before being promoted to chief operating officer in April 1992. During his more than ten years with the company, he has been responsible for manufacturing, materials, facilities, safety, quality and service operations. Before joining Convex, Rock held a number of manufacturing positions with Texas Instruments, Inc. A native of Colorado, Rock received a B.S.M.E. degree from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City.
