CONTROL THAT TAX TIME HEADACHE!

 CONTROL THAT TAX TIME HEADACHE!
NEW YORK, April 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Your head begins to hurt as you

flip the calendar page to April ...that dreaded day will soon be here. Visions of W-2 forms, collected receipts, and accountants' offices clutter your mind.
If filing your 1040 gives you a headache, you're not alone. Twenty- five percent of American taxpayers predict they will get a headache at tax time, according to a recent Gallup survey. The survey, sponsored by the Advil(R) Forum on Health Education, questioned 1,000 adults nationwide on the most common causes of their headaches.
"In times of increased tension, such as tax time, people are more emotionally strained and thus are more prone to muscle-contraction or tension headache," Peter Bruno, M.D., associate physician at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, said today.
In fact, 61 percent of those surveyed cited stress or work and work- related stress as the most common cause of headache. "Taking a break from tension-causing situations can decrease your chances of getting a muscle-contraction headache," added Bruno. "Good posture as well as plenty of rest and exercise are also important in headache prevention."
At tax time, the key to preventing a headache may be to relax and take that 1040 form one step at a time. If you find yourself getting frustrated, take a break. And if you begin to feel the onset of a tension headache, with pressure building in your neck and temples, a nonprescription analgesic such as Advil can do the trick. For tough headache, two Advil (400 mg ibuprofen) work better than two Extra-Strength Tylenol(R) tablets, caplets, or gelcaps (1000 mg acetaminophen), according to the manufacturer of Advil.
Millions of Americans suffer from recurrent headaches each year. Tension or muscle-contraction headache, stemming mainly from emotional factors, is the most common type. According to one study, as many as 77 percent of tension headaches are related to charged emotions.
Whitehall Laboratories, a Health Care Division of American Home Products Corporation and the manufacturer of Advil, is one of the world's leaders in the research and development, manufacture, and marketing of over-the-counter medications and personal-care products.
