CONTINENTAL AIRLINES REFUTES UNITED'S POSITION ON FOREIGN INVESTMENT

HOUSTON, Feb. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Responding to United Airlines' complaint today, Continental Airlines reiterated that Air Canada's investment in Continental in all respects falls within existing U.S. law and regulations concerning foreign investment in air carriers. Furthermore, United Airlines' objection is not timely since Continental has already received U.S. Department of Transportation approval.
In light of the above facts, Continental concludes that United's opposition to foreign investment is clearly without merit.
