CONTINENTAL'S RESPONSE TO ULTRAIR'S STATEMENT

HOUSTON, July 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Continental Airlines today issued the following statement in response to UltraAir's comments about their decision to cease operations.
"Continental's fare actions in this competitive environment were totally lawful. To imply that our actions were illegal and taken for any other reason is ludicrous and clearly without merit. Any attempt to compare the current lawsuit in Galveston with this allegation is truly a classic case of comparing apples with oranges."
