CONSUMERS POWER OFFERS HEATING SECURITY PLAN
JACKSON, Mich., Aug. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Consumers Power Company is

offering a service during the coming cold months that provides an essential commodity: peace of mind.
The utility's residential natural gas customers throughout Michigan's Lower Peninsula are currently receiving information on the Heating Security Plan, which offers protection against unexpected problems with their heating or hot water system. The Plan allows customers to protect their gas furnace, hot water boiler and hot water heater for an annual fee. If the equipment fails, any service calls and most repair parts are free during the Plan year.
Customer participation in the program can vary, depending on the extent of the protection chosen by the customer. Rates for the program are $74 for each furnace/hot water boiler covered and $12 to add a hot water heater. A $5 discount is available for early sign-up prior to Oct. 15, 1992. Also, an additional $5 discount is available to senior citizens, age 65 or older. Enrollment period ends Dec. 1, 1992.
Consumers Power Company, the principal subsidiary of CMS Energy Corporation (NYSE: CMS), is Michigan's largest natural gas and electric utility serving almost 6 million of the state's 9 million residents in 67 of the 68 Lower Peninsula counties.
