CONSUMERS POWER NAMES NATURAL GAS VEHICLE DIRECTOR

 JACKSON, Mich., April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Consumers Power Company today announced the appointment of Vance G. Anderson to the newly created position of director of natural gas vehicle programs.
 In his new position, Anderson will be responsible for overall management of Consumers Power's natural gas-fueled vehicle activities. Anderson, 48, had been general supervisor of gas services for the utility at its Jackson general office.
 "We're pleased to have Vance Anderson heading up Consumers Power's efforts in the environmentally friendly business of providing natural gas as a fuel for cars and trucks," said Consumers Power Vice President of Marketing David W. Joos in making the announcement.
 Anderson joined Consumers Power in 1968 as a customer services associate in Jackson. He held a progression of increasingly responsible district and region operations management positions in Kalamazoo, Lansing, Livonia and Jackson.
 A native of Midland, Anderson earned a bachelor of science degree in education and business from Central Michigan University in 1966, and a master of business administration degree from CMU in 1968.
 Consumers Power Company, the principal subsidiary of CMS Energy Corporation (NYSE: CMS), is Michigan's largest natural gas and electric utility serving almost 6 million of the state's 9 million residents in 67 of the 68 Lower Peninsula counties.
