CONSUMERS POWER COMPANY TO REDEEM REVENUE BONDS

 JACKSON, Mich., June 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Consumers Power Company has announced that three series of pollution control revenue bonds have been called for redemption on Aug. 1, 1993.
 Twenty-three million dollars ($23,000,000) principal amount of Township of Covert, Michigan, Pollution Control Revenue Bonds, Series A, due Aug. 1, 2003; $18,500,000 principal amount of Charter Township of Hampton, Michigan, Pollution Control Revenue Bonds, Series A, due Feb. 1, 2004; and $16,400,000 principal amount of Township of Port Sheldon, Michigan, Pollution Control Revenue Bonds, Series B, due Aug. 1, 1993-1997 and 2007 have been called for redemption.
 The three series will be refunded by the issuance and sale of $27,900,000 Michigan Strategic Fund Adjustable Rate Demand Limited Obligation Refunding Revenue Bonds, Series 1993A due June 15, 2010 and $30,000,000 Michigan Strategic Fund Limited Obligation Refunding Revenue Bonds, Collateralized Series 1993B due June 15, 2010. The First National Bank of Chicago was Purchaser of the refunding issues.
 The refunding is part of the utility's ongoing program to reduce the cost of capital to its customers.
 Consumers Power Company, the principal subsidiary of CMS Energy Corporation (NYSE: CMS), is Michigan's largest natural gas and electric utility serving almost 6 million of the state's 9 million residents in 67 of the 68 Lower Peninsula counties.
