CONSULTATION ENDS ON ELECTRICITY SYSTEM OPERATION GUIDELINES.

The Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER), the EU body responsible for coordinating Community-level regulatory tasks in the field of energy, closed its public consultation on the draft framework guidelines on system operation, and published stakeholders' responses, on 25 October. ACER is expected to deliver the framework guidelines on electricity system operation by 31 December 2011, which will serve as a basis for national operators to develop their network codes defining obligations and requirements for entities that use the European electricity transmission systems. This is the fifth round of consultations already launched by the organisation. The first four collected input for the framework guidelines on electricity grid connection, gas capacity allocation mechanisms, capacity allocation and congestion management for electricity, and gas balancing in transmission systems. A total of 29 energy associations, producer and trading companies took part in the consultation. Their contributions are available at www.acer.europa.eu
