CONSTANCE HORNER AND THOMAS G. LaBRECQUE ELECTED TO PFIZER BOARD OF DIRECTORS

 NEW YORK, Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Pfizer Inc. (NYSE: PFE) today announced the election of Constance J. Horner, former assistant to the President of the United States, and Thomas G. LaBrecque, chairman and chief executive officer of The Chase Manhattan Corporation and The Chase Manhattan Bank, to the company's board of directors.
 They will fill vacancies created by the retirements of Barber B. Conable Jr. and William J. Kennedy III.
 Mrs. Horner, 51, a guest scholar at the Brookings Institution, is a 1964 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and holds an M.A. degree from the University of Chicago. She has served as director of presidential personnel; deputy secretary, Department of Health and Human Services, and director, Office of Personnel Management. She is a fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration and a member of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights.
 Mr. LaBrecque, 54, holds a B.A. degree from Villanova University. President of Chase Manhattan from 1981 to 1990, he is a director of AMAX Inc. and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He is a member of the International Monetary Conference, director of the Association of Reserve City Bankers, a trustee of the Brookings Institution and treasurer of the United Negro College Fund.
 Mr. LaBrecque is a director of the Fund for New York City Public Education and the executive committee of the Partnership for Quality Education. Other memberships include the Business Council, The Business Roundtable, President's Advisory Committee on Trade Policy and Negotiations, Council on Foreign Relations and the Trilateral Commission.
