 CONQUEST AIRLINES CORP. APPOINTS JOHN R. WALTERS AS PRESIDENT
 AND CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
 AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Conquest Airlines Corp. (NASDAQ: CAIR), a regional airline serving Texas and Louisiana, has announced the appointment of John R. Walters to the position of president and chief operating officer effective Nov. 2, 1992. Victor M. Rivas, who had been president and chairman, continues as chairman and chief executive officer.
 Mr. Walters has held senior management positions with three regional airlines. From 1989 to 1991, he was chief operating officer of Air Midwest, an $82 million airline with 38 aircraft and 1,000 employees which became profitable during Mr. Walter's tenure after five years of losses. For five years from 1979 to 1984, he was president of Sun West Airlines which he established as the dominant Phoenix-based regional carrier. Prior to joining Sun West, Mr. Walters was president of Grand Canyon Airlines. He has also had extensive experience as an aviation consultant advising major and regional airlines, manufacturers, the FAA and others on strategic planning, market analysis, aircraft appraisals and business planning and valuations. His clients included Delta, America West and Mesa Airlines and Mitsubishi Trust and Banking. He was also an officer and combat pilot in the United States Air Force.
 Mr. Rivas said, "Mr. Walters has demonstrated an expertise in all areas of airline operations including strategic planning, marketing, sales, operations, maintenance and administration and is eminently qualified to serve as Conquest's chief operating officer. We consider ourselves fortunate that he accepted our offer."
 Based in Austin, Conquest Airlines Corp. currently operates some 1,700 flights per month serving 11 cities in Texas and Louisiana with six Fairchild Metro III 19-seat aircraft.
