CONNECTICUT NATURAL GAS ANNOUNCES APPROVAL TO ISSUE MEDIUM-TERM NOTES
HARTFORD, Conn., Nov. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Connecticut Natural Gas Corporation (CNG) (NYSE: CTG) today announced that it has received initial approval of the Connecticut Department of Public Utility Control (DPUC) to issue up to $75 million in Medium-Term Notes (MTNs). The DPUC decision was effective on Oct. 7, 1991 and allows CNG to issue MTNs over the next year, subject to further DPUC approval of certain terms.
CNG has completed the private sale of the first $10 million in MTNs with a maturity of 25 years.
Victor H. Frauenhofer, chairman, president and chief executive officer said, "The MTNs offer CNG increased flexibility and lower financing costs in a changing marketplace. The company will utilize the MTNs to fulfill growing requirements and to retire long and short-term debt."
