 LONGMONT, Colo., Aug. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Concepts Direct Inc. (NASDAQ: CDIR) announced today its results for the fiscal quarter ended June 30, 1993.
 Prior to Sept. 30, 1992, the company was the Consumer Products Division of Wiland Services Inc. On that date, Wiland Services was acquired by Neodata Corp. and the Consumer Products Division was spun off to the former Wiland Services shareholders on the basis of one share of the company's common stock for every four shares of Wiland Services common stock held immediately prior to the acquisition. References to financial results of 1992 refer to the results of the Consumer Products Division of Wiland Services for periods prior to Sept. 30, 1992.
 Sales for the quarter ended June 30, 1993 were $3,259,000 a 33 percent decrease from sales of $4,870,000 for the like period in 1992. The company posted a net loss of $1,903,000 or $(1.95) per share during the second quarter of 1993, compared to a net loss from continuing operations of $1,276,000 or $(1.42) per share for the like period of 1992.
 For the six months ended June 30, 1993, sales were $7,310,000 a 26 percent decrease from sales of $9,848,000 for the like period in 1992. The company reported a net loss of $2,460,000 or $(2.61) per share for the six month period ended June 30, 1993 compared to a net loss of $1,506,000 or $(1.68) per share for the like period in 1992.
 Phillip A. Wiland chairman and chief executive officer of the company said that the company expects to experience continued losses this year. Wiland stated, "We are in a difficult period for Concepts Direct as we go through the process of properly sizing our company after the sale of the Direct Marketing Services division late last year. We continue to focus on improving our marketing and merchandising efforts while implementing new systems for order fulfillment."
 For accounting purposes, the Direct Marketing Division of Wiland Services is treated as a discontinued operation. The company had income from the discontinued operations of $1,220,000 or $1.36 per share for the second quarter of 1992 and $1,780,000 or $1.99 per share for the first six months of 1992.
 Concepts Direct sells a diverse line of merchandise directly to consumers primarily through mail order catalogs. The company sells its merchandise under several trade names, primarily "Colorful Images."
 Headquartered in Longmont, the company houses all of its operations in Longmont and sells it products primarily in the United States.
