CONCENTRIC NETWORK CORPORATION NAMES SCOTT G. EAGLE VICE PRESIDENT OF MARKETING

Industry Veteran to Lead Internet, Intranet Company's Customer
 Acquisition


CUPERTINO, Calif., March 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Concentric Network Corporation, a leading provider of virtual private networks, intranets, customized consumer applications and Internet access, today announced the appointment of Scott G. Eagle as vice president of marketing. Eagle, 37, has more than 15 years experience in marketing and in the telecommunications industry and will drive Concentric's continuing customer acquisition and alliance strategy. "Scott brings the knowledge and background of both data communication and marketing that we need to continue in our strategy of providing tailored solutions using our nationwide data network to connect individuals, affinity groups and businesses to each other and the world using the Concentric Network and the Internet," said Henry R. Nothhaft, president and chief executive for Concentric Network Corporation.

Prior to joining Concentric, Eagle was vice president for strategic marketing development for MFS Intelenet Inc. of Parsippany, N.J., a startup subsidiary of MFS Communications Company that provides national telecommunications products to business and government customers, including both local and long distance services. While there, he was responsible for national marketing strategy and program development and was part of the initial management team that introduced MFS Intelenet to the market. Before that, Eagle was vice president and general manager for Hydrodent Laboratories Inc., a Woodbridge, N.J.-based company that develops, manufactures and markets consumer healthcare products. He also worked for The Procter & Gamble Company as advertising manager for new product development and in other marketing positions.

Eagle is an honors graduate of The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, earning a degree in marketing and entrepreneurial management. Concentric provides customized networking solutions for businesses, organizations and individuals. It operates a large, low-cost gateway to the Internet, multi-player gaming sites and other services and actively seeks out business alliances that facilitate the cost-effective acquisition of subscribers.
