COMTEL WINS GSA AWARD FOR TELEPHONES, SERVICES IN THREE STATES
WASHINGTON, Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Administrator Richard G. Austin of the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) announced the award of a contract with an estimated value of $9,638,747 to ComTel Industries, Inc., of Tampa, Fla., to provide telephones and telecommunication services at federal locations in three southern states.
The contract was awarded Jan. 8 under GSA's Purchase of Telecommunications Services (POTS) program. Federal agencies in Alabama, Florida and Mississippi can acquire telecommunications equipment and services from ComTel in accordance with contract terms.
The contract was awarded under the small business set-aside program, through which small and disadvantaged businesses compete for federal contracts for goods and services.
The contract is for three years and includes two one-year renewal options. Its maximum value limitation, including the two one-year options, is $28 million.
Items available under the contract include digital private branch exchanges (PBXs) of up to 500 lines, integrated voice/data terminals and electronic key systems. The contract contains specific requirements for digital inter-operability with GSA's intercity telecommunications network, FTS2000, as well as telecommunications devices for the deaf (TDDs). It also provides cable installation services and removal of embedded cable.
The POTS program is administered by GSA's Information Resources Management Services Technical Contracts Management Division, 202-501-3881, or FTS 241-3881.
