COMPUWARE CHAIRMAN POSITIVE ABOUT THE FUTURE

 FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., Aug. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Citing the successes of fiscal year 1993, Compuware (NASDAQ-NMS: CPWR) Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Peter Karmanos Jr. told stockholders at the company's first annual meeting that "this is a very exciting time to be an investor in Compuware Corporation."
 "We feel very good about the future," Karmanos said. "We have a great team of people -- at every level of the company -- working very hard to continue the strong growth performance that we've all come to expect from our company."
 According to Karmanos, fiscal 1993 was an exciting year for Compuware. "It was our 20-year anniversary and our strongest year ever in revenue and earnings." He noted that the company completed a very successful public offering and that total revenues increased $60 million, or 34 percent, over the previous year to $235 million.
 Karmanos said software license fee increased $20.4 million, or 30 percent, from the previous year and that revenue from software maintenance fees increased $22.2 million -- which is 36 percent higher than revenue generated in fiscal year 1993. He added that the Professional Services Division increased revenues $17.3 million, or 39 percent, from last year's total. "We acquired the Eyewitness CICS product line from Landmark Systems Corporation, PD/MVS from IBM and Professional Editor technology from Intersolv Incorporated," he said. "And in May 1993, we entered into an agreement to acquire EcoSystems Software, Inc." He noted that the company's growth continued strong in markets outside North America as well, including a 35-percent sales increase in Europe.
 Karmanos pointed out that the growth continued into the first quarter of fiscal year 1994 with revenues in first quarter of $61.3 million, an increase of 26 percent over the revenues for the same period last year. He also noted that net income for the first quarter increased 49 percent to $8 million from $5.4 million during the same period a year ago.
