COMPUTERVISION STRENGTHENS MANAGEMENT TEAM

BEDFORD, Mass., March 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Computervision Corporation (NYSE: CVN) today further strengthened its management team announcing that William Foniri, 46, vice president, business management, will take on the additional responsibilities of company Treasurer. In this capacity, Foniri will report directly to Computervision's Chief Financial Officer, Doug Smith.

Foniri, who joined CV in 1980, has held a number of senior business and financial management roles including Vice President, service business manager; Director of Asia/Pacific services; and Director of Finance and Business Planning for Computervision's services organization. In these roles he has acted as a key business partner of Kathleen A. Cote, Computervision's President and Chief Operating Officer.

"As a member of the Computervision business management team, Bill has been a valuable contributor in rebuilding Computervision into a leading software and services company," said Smith. "His thorough understanding of the Electronic Product Definition(TM) marketplace and his strong background in finance and business planning will be important assets to leverage Computervision's growth strategy."

Computervision's management team has led the company to eight consecutive increasingly profitable quarters since the beginning of 1994 and has successfully driven the steady growth of its software and service businesses. Recently, the company announced that fourth quarter 1995 product software revenues grew 17.8% from the year ago quarter.

Foniri has a bachelor's degree in finance from Boston College and an MBA from Babson College. Foniri is replacing Kevin McLaughlin who is leaving the company.
