 COMPUTER NETWORK TECHNOLOGY PROMOTES CARLSON
 TO VICE PRESIDENT OF MANUFACTURING
 MAPLE GROVE, Minn., Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Computer Network Technology Corporation (NASDAQ: CMNT) (CNT), developer and manufacturer of CHANNELink Extended Channel Networking products for mainframe computers, announced today that Richard E. Carlson has been elected vice president of manufacturing and an officer of the company, effective immediately.
 "Dick Carlson has a proven record of building and improving computer manufacturing operations. During 1991, he was responsible for increasing our manufacturing capacity by 100 percent, slowing the growth in inventory, while increasing quality by 70 percent," said CNT president Mac Lewis. Carlson was chairman of CNT's Quality Task Force, a committee for improved quality throughout the corporation in product, service and design. He also successfully managed the design, construction and move to CNT's new corporate headquarters.
 Carlson has more than 30 years experience in computer engineering and manufacturing with emerging and established high-tech companies. He holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Minnesota.
