COMPUTER NETWORK TECHNOLOGY EXTENDS EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT WITH STORAGETEK

 MINNEAPOLIS, Feb. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Computer Network Technology Corporation (NASDAQ-NMS: CMNT) (CNT) announced today that it has extended the term of its Equipment Maintenance Agreement with Storage Technology Corporation (NYSE: STK) (StorageTek) for an additional three years.
 The agreement, originally signed in 1987, establishes a relationship between the companies that enables CNT customers in North America to select StorageTek as their provider of on-site hardware maintenance for CNT's CHANNELink(TM) family of channel networking systems. Over 70 of CNT's customers have selected StorageTek as their on-site maintenance provider. CNT will continue to provide all other customer services including technical support, software maintenance, systems consulting and others.
 Mac Lewis, CNT president and CEO, said of the agreement, "We are pleased to extend our long-term relationship with StorageTek. This agreement gives us a great deal of flexibility in meeting our customer's long-term support needs."
 The relationship between the companies also includes other elements such as a Cooperative Marketing and Technical Exchange Agreement signed in 1990. CNT's CHANNELink systems are used by several mutual customers for building channel networks that include StorageTek 4400 Automated Cartridge Systems (ACS) and 4480 18-track cartridge tape subsystems.
 Storage Technology Corporation manufactures, markets and services, worldwide, information storage and retrieval subsystems for high performance and midrange computer systems and enterprise computer networks. The company reported revenue of $1.52 billion in its fiscal year ended Dec. 25, 1992.
 Computer Network Technology Corporation develops, manufactures, and markets high-speed Extended Channel Networking products for the interconnection of mainframe computers, data base computers, supercomputers, peripheral devices and LANs over unlimited distances. The company's common stock is traded on the NASDAQ National Market System under the symbol CMNT.
