COMPUTER NETWORK TECHNOLOGY CORPORATION BECOMES FIRST CHANNEL NETWORKING VENDOR TO SATISFY REQUIREMENTS FOR ISO 9002 CERTIFICATION

MINNEAPOLIS, June 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Computer Network Technology Corporation (NASDAQ: CMNT) (CNT) has become the first channel networking manufacturer to satisfy the requirements for certification under ISO 9002, an international standard of quality for the manufacture and support services of high speed electronic communications devices and computer networking systems.
Dick Carlson, CNT's vice president of manufacturing said, "This achievement reinforces CNT's position as a world-class manufacturer, and demonstrates CNT's commitment to customer satisfaction and exceeding customer expectations for quality. By satisfying ISO 9002 requirements, we have further demonstrated CNT's commitment to quality in the global marketplace."
The agency completing the survey was SGS International Certification Services, Inc., an organization that audits companies in the United States for compliance to ISO 9000 standards. These standards, established by the International Standards Organization (ISO) of Switzerland, define standards of quality acceptable to ISO's 90 member and affiliate countries. Beginning in 1994, ISO certification will be a significant factor enabling companies to sell their products in many European countries. In addition, CNT International (CNTI), CNT's subsidiary in the United Kingdom, is currently pursuing certification under British Standard 5750, the UK's equivalent standard for quality.
Computer Network Technology Corporation, a leader in the channel networking industry, develops and markets CHANNELink(TM) channel networking systems. These systems serve the data networking needs of many of the world's largest corporations by connecting high-performance computers, peripherals and local area networks in enterprise-wide backbone networks. The company's stock is traded on the NASDAQ stock market under the symbol CMNT.
