COMPUTER NETWORK TECHNOLOGY CORPORATION ANNOUNCES NEW DIRECTOR

 MAPLE GROVE, Minn., June 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Computer Network Technology Corporation (NASDAQ: CMNT) (CNT) today announced the election of John A. Rollwagen as a member of its board of directors. From 1981 through January 1993, Rollwagen served as chairman and chief executive officer of Cray Research, Inc., the leading supplier of supercomputers worldwide.
 Mac Lewis, CNT's president and chief executive officer commented, "I am pleased that John Rollwagen has accepted a position on our board of directors. John brings substantial operating experience in the high performance computing environment as well as a good perspective on the high performance networking marketplace. I am sure he will be a valuable asset for CNT."
 In addition to Rollwagen, the other outside directors are Lawrence Perlman, the president of Ceridian Corporation and Erwin A. Kelen, a private investor. C. McKenzie Lewis III, CNT's president and CEO, and Eugene D. Misukanis, a founder of CNT and its vice president of engineering and secretary are also directors.
