COMPUTER NETWORK TECHNOLOGY ANNOUNCES SUBSIDIARY IN FRANCE AND NEW MARKETS IN SWITZERLAND AND AUSTRIA

 MAPLE GROVE, Minn., March 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Computer Network Technology (NASDAQ-NMS: CMNT) today announced that it has established a subsidiary, CNT France S.A., to market and support its Channel Networking products in France. CNT France is headquartered in Paris and employs a director of sales with substantial experience in the high speed data communications industry in France.
 CNT also announced today that it has appointed Controlware GmbH as the exclusive distributor of its CHANNELink(TM) line of Channel Networking products in Switzerland and Austria. Controlware has been CNT's exclusive distributor in Germany since July 1991. Controlware designs, sells and services a wide range of telecommunications systems solutions. Controlware, which had revenue in 1992 of approximately 90 million DM (approximately $53 million USD), is headquartered in Dietzenbach, near Frankfurt, Germany.
 Peter Dixon, CNT's vice president of International, said, "We are delighted to announce the opening of new markets for CNT's products in France, Switzerland and Austria. With the addition of these markets, CNT is represented in almost all of western Europe. In particular, France is a large market where we believe our CHANNELink family of products will be well received."
