COMPUTER IDENTICS AWARDED CANADA POST CONTRACT

 CANTON, Mass., June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Computer Identics Corporation (NASDAQ-NMS: CDIN), announced that it has been awarded a $2.4M (U.S.) contract from the Canada Post Corporation (CPC) for a customized system based on its most recent scanner/decoder and its family of data collection products. The contract is for automating CPC's coded tray system for five CPC Letter Processing Plants and includes Computer Identic's Scanstar 242i, its proprietary Starnode network together with application software, installation services, and training.
 Computer Identics' Scanstar 242i is the most powerful decoder/controller for its line of miniature VLD bar code scanners and is the first in a series of revolutionary products that offers distributed processing capabilities at an affordable price. The Scanstar 242i offers database processing, complex control logic along with fast bar code decoding.
 Jaques Marcotte, project manager, Canada Post Corporation stated, "We initially started our search to upgrade our current sortation system, by looking for the best scanner. But, we ended up finding the best system for our needs."
