AND SCHOOLS ECONOMICAL ACCESS TO REDESIGNED SET
CHICAGO, Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Compton's Learning Co. and Encyclopaedia Britannica Educational Corp. (EBE) have announced an unprecedented program designed to help the nation's teachers, librarians and schools ease the pinched personal and public budgets for high- quality reference materials.

Compton's Learning Co. and EBE are units of Encyclopaedia Britannica Inc. In a joint statement, Compton's President Stanley D. Frank and EBE President Joseph E. Elliott said:

At the Britannica Companies, we want to equip the nation's teachers with outstanding reference materials to do the kind of home research they require to fulfill their own personal and professional goals."
The special purchase program lasts through Nov. 30.
Frank and Elliott said that librarians also are being given the opportunity to purchase their personal Compton's Encyclopedia, along with teachers. Librarians additionally may make the two-for-one school purchase for their respective school libraries.
