 COMPTEK RESEARCH HAS RECORD YEAR-END BACKLOG;
 EXPECTS TO REPORT FAVORABLE SALES AND EARNINGS RESULTS
 BUFFALO, N.Y., May 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Comptek Research, Inc. (AMEX/BSE: CTK) announced that its backlog was a record $58 million when its fiscal year ended on March 31, 1992. This is 8.6 percent larger than the $53.4 million backlog at the end of fiscal 1991.
 The backlog includes orders for 1,400 units of the DataMover(R) 2000, which permits wireless networking of automated bank teller machines. The DataMover backlog is for international orders. Last week, the Company announced Federal Communications Commission approval of the DataMover 2000 for domestic use. John R. Cummings, Comptek's Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, stated that "the Company anticipates substantial domestic demand for the DataMover 2000."
 The Company expects to report record sales and earnings for fiscal 1992 following completion of its annual audit by June 1.
 Comptek Research, Inc., with thirteen offices and subsidiary locations in the United States, develops command, control, communications, and intelligence systems and electronic warfare systems, primarily for the Department of Defense. Comptek also provides telecommunications transmission systems and services. Related activities include providing specialized technical services and the manufacturing of precision electronics for commercial applications.
