COMPTEK AWARDED $12.3 MILLION NAVY CONTRACT

 BUFFALO, N.Y., April 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Comptek Research, Inc. (AMEX: CTK, BSE: CTK) announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Comptek Federal Systems, Inc., has been awarded a contract with a total dollar value of $12.3 million by the U.S. Navy's Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division. The initial five-month base period on the contract begins May 1, 1993, and has a value of $915,000. The first option on the contract begins October 1, 1993, and there are a total of five options years.
 Comptek will be the prime contractor for follow-on work for updating software for the SLQ-32 Electronic Warfare System. Comptek was the original software designer for the SLQ-32, which is installed on virtually all surface combatant ships in the U.S. Navy. Work on the contract will be performed by Comptek employees in Goleta, Calif., and Dahlgren, Va.
