HOUSTON, Nov. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Compaq Computer Corporation (NYSE: CPQ) today reduced suggested resale prices by 25 percent on existing models of the award-winning COMPAQ LTE 386s/20 notebook personal computer, making these feature-packed products more affordable than ever. The company also announced a new 84-Megabyte version of the product.
Compaq introduced this revolutionary 386SX-based notebook computer one year ago, and it has since become one of the world's most popular notebook PCs.
Suggested Resale Prices of the COMPAQ LTE 386s/20 are now $3,299 for the Model 30; $3,599 for the Model 60; and $4,199 for the Model 84 (dealer pricing may vary). The new model is available immediately from Authorized COMPAQ Computer Dealers.
The 84-Megabyte version of the COMPAQ LTE 386s/20 is the ideal choice for Compaq customers who need high performance and the utmost in storage capabilities.

The COMPAQ LTE 386s/20 Model 84 comes standard with all the features of the current product line, including an Intel 20-MHz 386SX microprocessor; 4-Kbyte four-way cache; two megabytes of enhanced-page Random Access Memory (RAM); easy to read VGA edgelit display; internal 3.5 inch 1.44-megabyte diskette drive; more than three hours of battery life; and an 8.5 x 11 x 2.2-inch, 7.5-pound package.
The optional Desktop Expansion Base provides full desktop functionality with two full-sized, 8-/16-bit industry standard expansion slots and two extra drive bays, offering maximum versatility.
