Checks in the Mail, a Direct-to-Consumer Checks Printer,
Eliminates Middleman and Saves Consumer Money
IRWINDALE, Calif., Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Everywhere you look, people are trying to save money and rightfully so. One company, Checks in the Mail, offers significant cost savings for an item that most consumers purchase many times a year -- checks.
While the average person purchases two or three orders of checks a year, "Most people don't pay attention to the ordering and reordering of their checks, let alone realize they have the ability to save money on their check purchase," said A.J. Uniack, president, Checks in the Mail.
"I'm always surprised at the amount of people who think they must order their checks from the bank," Uniack added. "The truth is that most banks themselves order checks from independent financial printers, only to mark up the customer's cost substantially. Checks in the Mail solves that problem."
The American Bankers Association (ABA) maintains that as long as checks have the property encoding -- the magnetic ink that allows bank computers to read the long list of numbers on the bottom of checks -- consumers can purchase their checks anywhere. "However, we have been printing checks for the last 70 years -- the first 65 for the banks -- so not only do we continue to follow all of the ABA's stringent requirements, but we guarantee our checks to be accepted at any bank," said Uniack.
According to Uniack, many banks also have limited consumer choices in checks designs, or have striking price differences between a basic "safety blue" check and other design options. Checks in the Mail charges $4.95 for an introductory offer of 200 single checks (re-orders are $6.95) for any of its 21 designs. "The average bank charges somewhere between $12 to $16 for a standard order. That's at least a 50 percent savings for the consumer," said Uniack.
With cost savings on the top of everyone's mind, it makes sense to purchase checks directly. Free brochures with ordering instructions can be obtained from Checks in the Mail by calling 800-733-4443.
