Scrabble Tournament - Registration is open for those wishing to take part in a Scrabble tournament from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at Wesley United Methodist Church, corner of Cal Young and Oakway roads, as a fundraiser for Willamette Family Treatment Centers. $20 to enter. Valentine Horror Stories - Valentine's Day meets Halloween as storytellers share horror stories about their worst dates during "It's Not Me, It's You: Stories from the Dark Side of Dating" on Friday at Cozmic Pizza, 199 W. Human Heart Exhibit - Oregon Heart & Vascular Institute at Sacred Heart Medical Center will host a 27-foot-wide inflatable human heart exhibit Friday and Saturday at Valley River Center at Center Court as part of institute's 11th annual Heart Fair; the giant heart is a walk-through, inflatable replica of human heart that educates visitors on its features.

City Club of Eugene - 11:50 a.m. Friday at Sousa/Joplin Room at Hilton Eugene; Jim Steiner of AFSCME and Jeff Lozar of Americans for Prosperity will discuss "Lane County Nurses' Union and Public Employee Benefits."

Chi Rho Lectures - The 42th annual lecture series will feature Dr. Steve Delamarter, professor of Old Testament at George Fox Evangelical Seminary; Delamarter will explore the relationship between religious communities and their sacred manuscripts; dates and times for lectures are Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Central Lutheran Church, Saturday at 9 a.m. at Northwest Christian University Library, Room 203; Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Central Lutheran and Sunday at 9:30 a.m. at Central Lutheran; Saturday morning's lecture will include activities for children; Delamarter also will preach at the 8:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. worship services Sunday at Central Lutheran.
