Elks Hoop Shoot: Eugene's Emma McKenney, 13, has reached the national finals of the Elks Hoop Shoot contest. McKenney won the city (hitting 20 of 25 free throws), district (24 of 25), state (27 of 30) as well as the Northwest regional finals (22 of 25) to advance to the national finals April 18 in Springfield, Mass. She will compete against 11 other girls from across the nation for a $50,000 college scholarship.
Girls basketball: The South Eugene Girls Basketball Club will hold a three-day spring break camp March 23-25 at Oak Hill School for girls in fifth to eighth grades. The camp, held from 9 a.m. to noon each day, is for players who want to prepare for spring basketball or other sports through physical conditioning and basketball skill activities. Camp fee is $10 per day.

Easter dash: The third annual Easter Egg Stash Dash - which includes a half marathon, 5K run/walk and 1K egg hunt - will be held April 5 at Pre's Trail at Alton Baker Park. The event will feature a 5K course open to all ages beginning at 3 p.m. A short 1K Egg Hunt for 7- to 10-year-olds will be at 2 p.m. and a separate race for 6 years and younger will be at 2:30 pm. An inaugural half marathon on Pre's Trail will begin at 10 a.m.
