COMMODORE CRUISE LINE TO OPERATE YEAR-ROUND
FROM SAN DIEGO TO THE MEXICAN RIVIERA
CORAL GABLES, Fla., Nov. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Commodore Cruise Line announced today it will position the 731-passenger Enchanted Isle year-round in San Diego for seven-day cruises to the Mexican Riviera. Commodore is the only cruise line offering weekly Mexico cruises from the Port of San Diego.
From November 1991 through December 1992, the Enchanted Isle will depart Saturdays from San Diego, visiting Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta. Fares range from $895 to $1,895 per person, double occupancy, including airfare from most major U.S. gateways.
One- and two-night pre- and post-cruise hotel packages are available throughout the year, starting at $95 per person, double occupancy, and including rental car, hotel accommodations at the Holiday Inn on the Bay, room tax and porterage.
While in San Diego, passengers have the opportunity to visit nearby Sea World on Mission Bay, the world famous San Diego Zoo, picturesque Old Town or the spectacular scenery of La Jolla.
Cabo San Lucas is an internationally known resort on the tip of the Baja Peninsula. Deep-sea and shore fishing are popular attractions, and the warm, translucent waters also make for good snorkeling and scuba diving.
Mazatlan, the busiest port and the largest city on the Pacific coast of Mexico, is well known for its sport fishing, sandy beaches and the friendliness of its people. A drive along the shoreline offers a view of the world's second highest natural lighthouse as well as many offshore. In the heart of old downtown, the imposing Cathedral, Mazatlan Arts and Crafts Center, and the Temple of San Jose are just a few of the attractions.
Nestled between the Western and Southern Sierra Madre ranges, Puerto Vallarta was immortalized when Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor discovered the serenity of Mismaloya Beach during the filming of "The Night of the Iguana." Puerto Vallarta's quaint streets are loaded with shops and restaurants. Sports enthusiasts will find sailboards, speed boats, surfboards and sailboats for rent and 25 miles of white sand beaches to choose from.
