COMMISSIONERS TO HOLD WORKSHOP.
The twenty-seven EU commissioners will hold a workshop, on 11 and 12 September in Abbaye de la Ramee in Jodoigne (Walloon Brabant), in order to discuss the political priorities not only for the second half of 2008 but also for the last year of their term. Other than main priorities such as energy and the fight against climate change, or socio-economic objectives in the framework of the Lisbon strategy, they will discuss the overall strategy to put in place in 2009 - a pivotal year which will see European elections held in June, the renewal of the EU executive (with some hoping for another term) and the end of the ratification process for the Lisbon Treaty.
