COMMERCIAL INTERTECH NAMES SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT

 YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio, Jan. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Commercial Intertech Corp. (NYSE: TEC) today announced it has named Kipton C. Kumler, 53, Senior Vice President - Fluid Purification Systems Group.
 Kumler, who has been a member of the Board of Directors of Commercial Intertech since 1985, most recently was President and Chief Executive Officer of The Lexington Consulting Group, Inc., a management consulting firm he founded in 1979. For ten years prior he was a senior consultant with Arthur D. Little, Inc., in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
 Kumler was awarded undergraduate and graduate degrees in electrical engineering from Cornell University and earned an MBA from Harvard University.
 Commercial's Fluid Purification Systems Group, comprised of a number of business units, manufactures fluid purification products and systems in six countries and markets around the globe. Cuno, the largest unit, which is headquartered in Meriden, Connecticut, is focused on developing cost-effective solutions for the separations of solids, liquids, slurries and gases. Worldwide sales in 1993 for the Fluid Purification Systems Group were $131 million.
 In making the announcement, Paul J. Powers, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Commercial Intertech, said, "We are indeed fortunate to have obtained Kip Kumler's talents and experience for the senior leadership of our Fluid Purification Systems Group.  Commercial Intertech Corp. is a multi-national manufacturer and marketer of hydraulic components, fluid purification systems, pre- engineered buildings and stamped metal products. Sales for fiscal 1993 were $448.6 million.
