 COMMERCE & INDUSTRY INSURANCE INTRODUCES
 NEW POLLUTION LEGAL LIABILITY COVERAGE
NEW YORK, March 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Commerce & Industry Insurance Co. (C&I), a member company of American International Group, Inc. (NYSE: AIG), has introduced a moderately priced Preferred Risk Pollution Legal Liability policy created for businesses such as light manufacturers, warehousing and distribution companies, and retail operations, it was announced today.
"While pollution legal liability coverage has been available for some time, it has traditionally been more suitable for businesses with high pollution exposures. C&I's Preferred Risk Pollution Legal Liability policy makes coverage more cost-effective for businesses with less exposure," said Robert Patterson, vice president of C&I.
In addition to a lower premium rate, the insured does not have to pay for the pre-policy risk assessment required to qualify for coverage.
The policy covers pollution conditions emanating from a covered location. These pollution conditions must occur after the effective date of the initial policy. Pollution conditions that occurred before that date are not covered. Coverage may not be available in all states. The policy itself should be checked for details of coverage.
