COMMEMORATIVE 20-KRONE COIN 2000.
A commemorative 20-krone coin has been issued to mark the new millennium. The coin is a circulation coin at nominal value and is legal tender.
Diameter: 27.5 mm Thickness: 2.2 mm Weight: 9.9 g Alloy: 81% Copper, 10% Zinc, 9% Nickel
Obverse: A portrait of HM King Harald V from the right, and the legend HARALD V. NORGES KONGE around the left-hand side of the coin. Under the portrait: the crossed pick and hammer (mintmark of the Royal Norwegian Mint) and the initials of the Director of the Mint, JEJ (Jan Erik Johansen).
Reverse: The new millennium is symbolised by a landscape with a road disappearing into the unknown. Halfway up the coin on the right-hand side: the artist's initials MW, and in the lower left-hand half of the coin: 20/KRONER/AR 2000
The obverse of the coin was designed by designer Ingrid Austlid Rise and the reverse of the coin was designed by sculptor Marit Wiklund.
The coin was put into circulation on 15 September 2000.
