COMEDY LEGEND RICHARD PRYOR MAKES HIS FIRST APPEARANCE
ON 'THE ARSENIO HALL SHOW,' THURSDAY, OCT. 29
HOLLYWOOD, Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Comedy genius Richard Pryor makes his first late night talk show appearance in several years on "The Arsenio Hall Show," Thursday, Oct. 29. Pryor's visit to "The Arsenio Hall Show" comes before his first concert performance in six years. He will perform at the Circle Star Center in San Carlos, Calif., on Oct. 31.
In preparation of his long-awaited comeback, Pryor, who has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, has been working out new material in such local Los Angeles comedy clubs as The Comedy Store for the past few weeks. Pryor will share with the audience his newfound happiness, his struggles to maintain a healthier lifestyle and new physical fitness regime.
Born in Peoria, Ill., Pryor made his stage debut at the age of 12 in local children's theater productions. He exploded onto the comedy scene in the mid-60s with his brash and brilliant comedic technique. Pryor's long list of film and television credits includes "The Ed Sullivan Show," "The Tonight Show," "Lady Sings the Blues," "Stir Crazy," "JoJo Dancer Your Life Is Calling," and "Another You." He has also headlined at venues across the nation.
Pop superstar Barry Manilow and sax player Dave Koz will also appear the same evening.
Syndicated to more than 200 stations, covering 98 percent of all U.S. viewing households, "The Arsenio Hall Show" is produced by Arsenio Hall Communications Ltd. in association with Paramount Domestic Television. Arsenio Hall serves as executive producer.
