COMDEX Las Vegas 2003 Spotlights International Growth; Global Networking Center Focuses on Fostering Understanding Between Domestic and International Markets.

Specific highlights include presentations from countries like Brazil, Denmark, France, the United Kingdom and Taiwan; information on how international vendors can leverage the IT market in the United States; and exclusive networking opportunities for international participants.

"More than 16 percent of this year's attendees are from international markets," said Eric Faurot, vice president and general manager of COMDEX. Only an event like COMDEX can provide a comprehensive overview of the state of the global IT industry while giving international buyers and sellers contextual content, education and community."

The core of the COMDEX international focus is its Global Networking Center (GNC), located at the center of the show floor in Central Hall 3. The GNC is open 10 AM-5 PM, Monday-Wednesday, November 17-19; and 10 AM-2 PM, on Thursday, November 20.

The GNC provides international buyers and sellers of IT with a forum to learn about global expansion opportunities in specific countries; meet with key international buyers and sellers; engage in traditional or online matchmaking; establish new global business relationships; and strengthen existing global partnerships.

Additional International Networking and Educational Opportunities

Attendees can participate in international market opportunity presentations and receptions to learn how to better access global markets from countries such as Brazil; Denmark; France; the United Kingdom; and Taiwan. During these sessions, participants will learn about the market opportunities available to United States and international businesses and how their governments are working to foster global partnerships.

In addition, industry leaders will present on accessing IT markets in the United States. Discussion leaders will present on what IT sector opportunities exist in the United States for international organizations and how the U.S. Department of Commerce is working to foster partnerships with foreign technology businesses. A networking reception with representatives from the U.S. Department of Commerce and international business leaders will be held after the presentation.

-- Accessing Brazil's IT Markets Through Its Free Trade Zone

In addition, from 5:30-6:30 PM, on Tuesday, November 18, an invitation-only, "Around the World: Meet the Channel" reception will be held in the GNC. The reception presents an exclusive opportunity for U.S. value-added resellers (VARs); solution providers; integrators; business and technology consultants to meet face-to-face with international COMDEX exhibitors looking for U.S. Channel partners.

The wine and cheese reception will be held at the Global Networking Center after the exhibit floor closes.

COMDEX Las Vegas 2003 focuses on IT in the B2B marketplace and covers seven core technology themes: Linux and Open Source, Wireless and Mobility, the Digital Enterprise, Web Services, Windows Platform, On-Demand Computing and Security.
