 PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Comcast Cable Communications has announced the appointments of Michael H. Young to the position of senior vice president of programming, Thomas R. Nathan to the position of vice president, Jonathan R. Gorchow to the position of vice president of sales promotion, and Thomas A. Hurley to the position of vice president of programming.
 Young will continue to be responsible for the overall direction of programming activities for both the domestic and international cable systems owned by Comcast. Prior to joining Comcast in 1988, Young held various marketing and programming positions at Warner Cable and HBO.
 Nathan will continue in his capacity as deputy general counsel of Comcast Corporation to provide legal counsel for the Cable division, including matters concerning local and federal regulation. Before joining Comcast in 1984, he served as general counsel for the New York City Office of Telecommunications. Nathan is a graduate of the New York University School of Law and Johns Hopkins University.
 Gorchow will be responsible for Comcast Cable's consumer marketing programs. Formerly director of marketing and sales at Cable Value Network, Gorchow joined Comcast in 1989. He earned his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Texas and received his undergraduate degree from Syracuse University.
 Hurley will oversee the programming activities of Comcast's domestic systems. Prior joining Comcast in 1990 he served as director of programming for Telecable Corporation. Hurley is a graduate of the University of West Virginia and received his Masters of Business Administration from the College of William and Mary.
