COMA MAN'S pounds 2,800 BILL.

A COMA victim was asked to pay for pounds 28,000 of new windows - because he did not cancel the contract before he was injured.

Stephen Gadie, 45, is still unconscious after slipping on steps a month ago. Doctors say he has little chance of improving.

But double glazing firm Safestyle refused to scrap the contract because his accident was more than a week after the cancellation period. They finally backed down after his family called in trading standards in Hull, Yorks.

Safestyle boss Mark Anderson said: "This will not happen again."

Stephen's sister Joan Gray said: "Their attitude was disgusting."
