COM One to launch V92 modem range.

The French telecomms products manufacturer COM One is to integrate V92, the successor of the current communication standard V90, into its modem range.

According to COM One the V92 standard should be available during 1Q'2001, offering a quick connect feature that almost halves connection time. COM One plans to launch its V92 modem range as soon as Internet providers are equipped to offer the standard.

COM One will also incorporate into its modem range the modem-on-hold function integrated in the V92 standard. The function will allow users to take an incoming voice call or place a call while on the Internet without losing their connection.
