COLUMBIA LABORATORIES AND KODAK UNIT SIGN AGREEMENT TO EXPAND MARKETING OF REPLENS INTO JAPAN

 HOLLYWOOD, Fla., Dec. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Columbia Laboratories, Inc. (AMEX: COB), today announced that they have signed a licensing agreement for Japan with Sterling Drug, a division of Kodak, under which Sterling will be the exclusive marketer of Replens(R) and other women's health care products currently under development by Columbia. Under this agreement, Columbia will manufacture while Sterling will market and distribute.
 "We are extremely pleased with this alliance because Sterling through its parent, Kodak, has developed the most sophisticated distribution network in Japan," said Norman M. Meier, Columbia's president and chief executive officer. "The signing of this agreement means that in 1993, Replens will be on the market in North America, Continental Europe and Asia. Replens is a patented vaginal moisturizer and is available in retail outlets without a prescription. Replens is a unique application of Columbia's bioadhesive technology."
 Columbia Laboratories, Inc. is a U.S. - based international pharmaceutical company, established in 1987, dedicated primarily to developing women's health care products based on its patented bioadhesive delivery systems.
