 KINDNESS BY USING GARDEN HOSES WITH ECO-APPEAL
 RIDGEFIELD, N.J., April 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Spurred by consumer demand, today's manufacturers of lawn and garden products have become more ecology-conscious and are introducing products that protect both the population and the environment, according to Colorite Plastics Company of Ridgefield, N.J.
 Colorite has identified a growing shift in consumer behavior toward buying products that provide positive solutions to today's ecological concerns. This, it cites as the major factor for the increase in demand of its Waterworks(R) Drinking Water Safe garden hose line.
 "We manufacture our products with non-toxic FDA approved materials to be drinking water safe, in order to protect the population and be safe for children and pets, as well as the environment," said Matthew Drozdoff, vice president and general manager for Colorite Plastics Company.
 The company recently introduced Colorite Waterworks(R) EVEN FLOW(R) Kink-Free hose, the first in its series of non-toxic, FDA approved materials, Drinking Water Safe hose made with virgin, food-grade quality materials.
 "Today, all Colorite hoses are manufactured with recyclable materials, a process that matches product performance characteristics to environmental material selection," Drozdoff explained.
 According to a recent survey, 89 percent of all U.S. consumers care about the environmental impact of the products they buy. Some 78 percent said they were willing to pay more for products that are beneficial to the environment.
 "Since the mid-'80s Colorite has been sensitive to the need for environmentally compatible products, and through its extensive research and development effort, has created the people-safe, earth-safe products it began introducing recently," said Drozdoff.
 The company offers customers 26 varieties of its exclusive line of non-toxic drinking water safe hoses.
 Styles range from hoses for home lawn and garden use to commercial applications and camping-boating use. Three of the styles have the advantage of Colorite's exclusive, double-patented kink-free construction. This keeps water flowing no matter how the hose is kinked, bent or twisted.
