COLONY HOTELS & RESORTS ANNOUNCES FAMILY TRAVEL PACKAGES AND CHILDREN'S SERVICES

MINNEAPOLIS, March 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Colony Hotels & Resorts today announced a variety of exciting packages, facilities and services designed to focus on a growing segment of the leisure travel market -- families.
According to a recent survey conducted for Better Homes & Gardens magazine, more than 45 million adults planned a vacation with children in 1992, an increase of over three million from 1991 figures. Colony Hotels & Resorts is responding to this growing trend with comprehensive packages and services appealing not only to a family's budget, but to children of all ages.
"Many of our properties are broadening their base of guest services to include programs and facilities exclusive to families," said Joan Sills, president of Colony Hotels & Resorts. "We are positioning ourselves for the future by marketing to families today with successful rate promotions such as our annual 'Summertime Blues' campaign."
Colony's "Summertime Blues" rate promotion offers families dramatic summer vacation savings allowing children 17 years and under to stay free when accompanied by adults. The promotion begins in May and will run through September 1993.
In Hawaii, Colony properties offer guests the "Paradise on Wheels" condo/car package which features daily use of a complimentary air- conditioned Budget Rent-A-Car with unlimited mileage, airport pickup, choice of studio through deluxe villa or condominium accommodations with daily maid service -- ideal accommodations for families.
Other Colony properties focusing on families include:
-- Colony's Hilton Head Island Beach and Tennis Resort on Hilton Head Island, S.C., offering a "Fun Center" with bikes, rollerblades and moped rentals; babysitting referrals; and special family rate packages.
-- Colony Golden Eagle Resort in Stowe, Vt., offering a "Kids Night Out" with movie and popcorn; supervised morning, afternoon and evening programs with movies, crafts, nature walks and more; game room, pools and playground; and babysitting referrals.
