COLONNADE BEGINS PRESERVATION OF HISTORIC ROTUNDA

CORAL GABLES, Fla., Aug. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- In an effort to preserve its beauty and integrity, the historic rotunda in The Colonnade Hotel will undergo termite treatment in early August. To minimize guest and customer inconvenience, the entire hotel/office/retail center and parking garage will be closed on Friday, Aug. 6 at 6 p.m. and will reopen on Monday, Aug. 9. Hotel and management office phone lines will be open and administrative personnel will be available at an outside location during that time.
Managing Director Mario Abril said, "We are extremely proud of our beautiful rotunda and are committed to maintaining it. We will do our best to accommodate our guests and customers with a minimum of inconvenience."
Only a small wooden portion of the 6,000-square-foot rotunda actually requires the treatment for termites. Fully restored to its original 1920's grandeur, the rotunda is a national landmark in the heart of historic Coral Gables linking Miracle Mile and Aragon Avenue.
