Consolidated (NASDAQ-NMS: COKE) today announced it has purchased the Fayetteville, Tennessee Coca-Cola Bottling Company, thus adding to its existing Tennessee Coca-Cola franchises.
The acquisition has been completed, but terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The newly acquired territories include all of Lincoln and Moore Counties and parts of Bedford and Franklin Counties in south central Tennessee. Coca-Cola Consolidated is the largest Coca-Cola bottler in Tennessee, with production or distribution centers in Nashville, Jackson, Lavergne, Lebanon, Springfield, Columbia, Paris and Dickson. "This acquisition represents a continuation of Coca-Cola Consolidated's long-term plan of expansion through internally-generated growth and strategic acquisitions," said Coke Consolidated vice Chairman Frank Harrison, III. Earlier this month, the Charlotte-based company announced it has signed a letter of intent to acquire operational control of Sunbelt Coca-Cola, a major South and North Carolina bottler. Upon the completion of the Sunbelt transaction, Coca-Cola Consolidated would become the second largest Coca-Cola bottler in the nation. -0- 11/26/91 /CONTACT: Lauren C.
